Porfessor Jianpeng Liu is a Research Professor and Ph.D. advisor at ShanghaiTech University. He also serves as Principal Investigator at the Institute for Quantum Control of Materials, Liaoning Academy of Materials, where he is primarily responsible for the research direction of quantum simulation and theoretical studies of materials.
His research mainly focuses on condensed matter theory and computational physics. He has broad interests in the theoretical and first-principles studies of topological properties, Coulomb correlation effects, electronic structures, as well as transport and optical properties in novel quantum materials and condensed matter systems. He has published or has had accepted around 70 research articles, including in Phys. Rev. Lett. / Phys. Rev. X (16), Nat. Commun. (9), Nature (3), Science (1), Nat. Rev. Phys., Nat. Nanotechnol., and Nat. Mater., among others. He was selected for a national-level youth talent program and has led or participated in several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key R&D Program.
